Mekar Bhuana co-founder Vaughan  Hatch is currently collecting data on semara pagulingan, pelegongan and bebarongan gamelan across Bali. He has been working on this project for around 11 years.

The research also involves sourcing old recordings of these ensembles. On several occasions old recordings have led to reconstruction of extinct repertoire. Please contact Mekar Bhuana if you know of any recordings that may be of use to the Balinese people.
